Who is ready to meet their new best friend?

WHS is re-opening the shelter on Thursday, May 28th for adoptions, by appointment only! The shelter has a plan in place to help keep everyone safe, while giving individuals and families the opportunity to make an addition to their home! Here is what you need to know:

  • Adoptions are by appointment only - please fill out an adoption application online, and we will contact you to set up an appointment. Applications can be found here: https://warrickhumanesociety.org/adoption-info/
  • We will schedule three adoption appointments per hour, and only two people per family/group will be allowed in the shelter at one time. This will allow for people to spend time looking for the right pet while practicing social distancing. Additional people/family members will be allowed to wait outside and the pet (dogs only) can be taken out to meet with them. This will also allow ample time for staff to properly clean between each adoption.
  • Masks are required by everyone while in the shelter. Please bring your own mask. If you do not have one, the shelter has some for purchase for $1 each.
  • To keep traffic to a minimum, we will not be allowing volunteers inside the shelter at this time. We will have things for volunteers to do outside. If you're interested, please email volunteerwarrick@gmail.com.
  • Warrick Tails on Trails will be starting up soon! Please watch their Facebook page for details!

Support our furry friends at Warrick Humane Society today

At Warrick Humane Society, our mission is to end the animal overpopulation crisis in our community, to find homes for homeless and neglected animals and to provide educational programs, fundraisers and volunteer services for the community.

Five reasons you should support Warrick Humane Society

  1. We run a no-kill shelter, where dogs and cats are safe in our care.
  2. We make sure all of our animals are up to date on vaccinations before adoption.
  3. If we have space, we're always willing to take in animals from the public and other facilities.
  4. We host many events and fundraisers to raise money for our animals and shelter.

Treating animals with care for over 30 years

Treating animals with care for over 30 years

Warrick Humane Society started in 1983 out of a few generous people's homes. Once we realized the growing need for an established no-kill shelter, we decided to build a safe place for animals to stay until adoption. Since then, we have added our Home Away Pet Spa, a grooming and boarding facility for the community where all proceeds help the animals in our shelter. A lot of dogs and cats depend on us, so we also have fundraisers, volunteer opportunities and events to raise money and awareness year-round.

To keep tails wagging, we could really use your help! Make a donation or volunteer today at Warrick Humane Society. Call 812-858-1132 with any questions about our organization.
